Garlic-Croutons

Okay, so I HATE the end two slices of a loaf of bread, who doesn’t right? I was literally about to throw them away, when I had a lightbulb moment. I can attempt to make croutons! And you are looking at the end product of that – I’m very pleased with how these turned out!

So, here’s what you’ll need (makes enough for a salad that serves 4)

4 slices of bread crusts (alternatively you could lightly toast normal bread and use this)
2 tbs garlic butter

Step 1. Slice the bread into cubes that are roughly 1 inch x 1 inch

Step 2.  In a fry pan, heat 2 tbs of garlic butter on low, until it coats the entire base of the pan

Step 3. Toss in the sliced bread pieces. Stir until they are all well coated in the melted butter. Once they’re coated, spread them out so that they’re relatively evenly spaced in the pan.

Step 4. Don’t touch them for about 45-60 seconds, or until they’re well toasted on the one side. Then, using metal tongs, flip each crouton onto the other side

Step 5. Let the other side of the crouton toast, and then give all of them a good stir with a spatula ensuring that they’re all evenly toasted.

Step 6. Make a salad, toss in the croutons and eat up!

As I said earlier, I was extremely happy with how these turned out. Heck, these were so tasty that we were literally eating them out of the bowl, they would make great “garlic bread bites” starter!! You need to try this SUPER EASY recipe! :) Megs xo
