Popcorn is one of my all time favourite foods, if I could eat it every day, I would! I recently discovered a Salt & Vinegar seasoning which I’ve been sprinkling (i.e pouring all over) my popcorn, which got me thinking… what else could I add to this wonderful food.

Lindt, meet Popcorn.

Chocolate-Popcorn

All you need for this recipe is:

5 tbs vegetable oil
1/2 cup popcorn
sea salt
100g Lindt dark chocolate (I used 70% but you can use whatever you like best)

Step 1. Heat the oil slowly in a large pan. To test if it’s hot enough, add a few kernels and if they start spinning then you’ve got the right temperature.

Step 2. Pour in 1/2 cup of popcorn kernels and cover the pan

Step 3. Shake pan regularly until popping ceases and then pour the popcorn into a large bowl.

Step 4. Break the Lindt chocolate into small pieces and pop in the microwave for 30 seconds, stir and repeat until you have a smooth texture

Step 5. Using a teaspoon, drizzle the chocolate over the popcorn evenly

You can eat it straight away, or pop it in the freezer for 5 minutes to let the chocolate harden so you don’t have gooey fingers!

So I got a bit carried away with the left over popcorn, and ended up pouring some Caramel sauce over it –  but that’s a post for another day :)
